Since everyone has different tastes and preferences, not everyone is going to like the same things as me. Yes, I know that's hard to believe but it's true. I don't like mushrooms yet the mushroom industry flourishes. Go figure. Now because of this, I like to include guest reviews on the site so as to allow the sharing of other opinions and points of view. Fortunately Matt Murdick, aka @EatthisinkcMatt, was willing to share hisin the following review of Smoked Rye Imperial Porter by Santa Fe Brewing....

"You really should focus on another beer to brew, besides nobody is really doing anything smoked or porter for that matter right now."

Well, in my opinion, sometimes collaborators/great minds like Santa Fe Brewing in AZ and Central States Beverage Distributors in KC,MO go against what may be trending in craft beer and come up with an amazing beer and an idea that has never been achieved in the craft beer scene.

Well, Jon Poteet sales and Marketing director at CSBEV (Central States Beverage) had a clever idea of bringing in a local home brewer Corey Wood and Master Chef Josh Eans to infuse their thoughts and ideas with Santa-Fe Brewing to come up with a collaborative beer that showcases both the thoughts and flavors of each region: mellow, robust and abundance of flavor. The out come was a Imperial Rye Smoked Porter 11.3% abv and does not come off boozy. What it is, is a beautiful blend of locally sourced ingredients like smoked chipotle peppers from Santa-Fe's local farmers market. This was one of my favorite characteristics of this beer it's called a Imperial Rye Smoked Porter the smoked flavor stems from the natural smokiness of the chipotle peppers but neither the smoke or the heat from the chilies ever take over one another which usually happens in beers. They were able to balance these ingredients for this style of beer to make perfection.

I had the great privilege to try and experience this amazing beer. This collaboration with great brewery's, Distributors, home brewers and master chefs only makes my interest for craft beer grow everyday I wish you all the same experiences every day. As the pints go by.

Cheers!
