Coppertail Brewing Co. announces the opening of a kitchen serving lunch and dinner to hungry patrons in their Ybor City taproom.

Hamburger and a pint of beer at The S & V Kitchen @ CoppertailIn the past, Coppertail invited food trucks to serve food for their customers, but they had always planned to offer food eventually.

“We had the idea to create the space for a kitchen when we built out the brewing facility and taproom,” said Kent Bailey, Coppertail’s President and Co-owner. “We wanted to focus on brewing and distributing great beer first. We felt it was time to complete the kitchen so we could offer food to our customers.”

Kent along with Co-owner and Brew Master, Casey Hughes, had known Ty and Lacey Mathis, co-owners of The Stein and Vine craft beer, wine bar and pub in Brandon, FL, for several years. “We really enjoyed what they were doing at their restaurant. The food and craft beer pairings were great. We got along with them really well and became good friends. It made sense for them to be the ones to partner with us to offer food at Coppertail.”

Ty Mathis, owner of The Stein and Vine said, "We are excited to partner with a great group of people who feel as passionate about craft beer and food as we do. We look forward to creating an amazing experience for everyone at Coppertail Brewing Co. with the integration of our creative and fun menu.”

It was Ty who suggested the space for the kitchen in the architectural planning stage, and Ty who also accidentally drank the first beer Coppertail served at their new facility in 2014. “Ty was here the day we were going to draw the first beer from our taps,” said Kent. “While we were working in the production facility, Ty decided to pour himself a beer, not knowing it was beer #1. But I have gotten even. I had the first burger off the new grill.”

The S & V Kitchen @ Coppertail will be open seven days a week one hour after Coppertail opens, and it will close one hour before Coppertail closes. The menu features many items that have Coppertail beer and brewing by-products in the recipes, including the popular spent grain pretzels. To see a menu, visit Coppertail Brewing
