Release and Anniversary Party with Van Halen cover band on February 9th

Fat Point Brewing is turning four, and to commemorate the occasion the craft brewery is releasing a limited-edition Peanut Butter Scotch Ale and throwing a party on February 9th.

“We want to celebrate this milestone and say thanks to the community of Punta Gorda and all our Fat Point fans for supporting our passion, love and commitment for brewing great beer,” said Fat Point Head Brewer Jessy Abbate.

The festivities on February 9th will begin at noon featuring $4 pints from Fat Point and Big Storm Brewing Co. A variety of outdoor games will be featured for the whole family to enjoy while DJ Diwrection performs until 7 p.m. Then the Fat Point Anniversary Party kicks off with 1984, a Van Halen Tribute band that will perform until 11pm.

Since opening in 2015, Fat Point has received a number of awards, including a gold medal at the 2018 U.S. Open Beer Championship for its Bru Man Chu beer.  Judges awarded Bru Man Chu the top honor in the Belgian Strong Specialty Ale category.

The Peanut Butter Scotch Ale that is being brewed for the anniversary party is a malty beer with a rich and sweet flavor profile.  Abbate says the caramel and peanut butter notes work together to create a smooth, rich and flavorful beer that is both sweet and savory.

“A perfect beer to celebrate Fat Point’s fourth anniversary,” Abbate said.

Fat Point will also be running a Designated Driver Special on February 9th.  For those willing to forgo the beer and make sure everyone gets home safe by signing up as a designed driver, they will get a free food ticket, a bottle of water and a special gift.

Fat Point’s taproom is located at 611 Charlotte St. in Punta Gorda.
