Titanic Restaurant & Brewery is located on the edge of both Coral Gables and South Miami, next to the University of Miami. Titanic is a combination of a microbrewery, a restaurant, and a showcase for live entertainment.

The interior has a nautical theme featuring dark woods and deep colors. Posters and pictures of the Titanic are featured on the walls. TVs are mounted throughout the interior for the sports fan.

While Titanic features a full bar, they are best know for their brewed beer. They have a half-dozen beers that are usually available but also feature several seasonal and guest beers on tap. Their regular beers are Triple Screw Ale which is a refreshing light beer, Captain Smith's Rye Ale which ahs won several awards, White Star India IPA, Boiler Room Nut Brown Ale (a favorite of mine with it's slight coffee flavor), Britannic Best Bitter which tastes a little hoppier than the IPA, and Shipbuilders Oatmeal Stout which is very smooth with chocolate and coffee flavors.

Their seasonal taps are constantly changing but on a recent visit, featured their own Oktoberfest beer and a Barley Wine beer along with Shipyard's Punkinhead.

The food is unbelievable. Everyone in our group couldn't stop talking about how good it was. We tried the Shrimp Etouffee, Salmon Cakes, Shrimp & Grits and the Meatloaf. Both of the shrimp dishes were very flavorful and featured generous portions of large-sized shrimp. The sausage in the Shrimp & Grits had the right bit of spicy goodness. The meatloaf was out of this world. It's not the plain-old stuff grandma used to make. Titanic takes it up a notch by mixing in ground chorizo and sausage. The only negative thing anyone had to say, and it was minor, was that the Salmon Cakes could have used a bit more of the dill sauce (and I am sure that we could have gotten a side of it had we asked).

We've been there a couple of times on the weekends and have always enjoyed the live entertainment. There's a live band every Friday and Saturday starting around 10 or so.

If you are in South Florida, the Titanic is worth the drive.
